Wattisham Airfield

Set in the airfield, this development provided numerous challenges for the team to overcome. From the approvals required to enter the airfield to the classified routes of underground services the team had to deliver the scheme on a tight programme.

The construction of a new building, an Apache Maintainer Training Facility (AMTF) on Wattisham Airfield. Single storey, steel portal framed building, with a combination of aluminium cladding and block and brick external walls, aluminium standing seam roof, glazing and roller shutter doors.
Internal Works include: A mezzanine floor, store room, workshop, plant room, changing facilities and industrial style fittings.
External works: include car parking, access road and footpaths. Works include the removal of a large bund currently located on the site. The work also include a significant number of below ground cable and services diversions.

This project was completed on time and within budget and illuminated the fact that strong communication and desires from all parties to work together, resulted in the delivery of an outstanding project.
