At Jessops construction Headquarters, we never pass up an opportunity to raise funds for our chosen charity and our annual barbeque in September was no different.
The team took advantage of a dress down day, and at lunch time our commercial Manager and good all-rounder, Richard Sherry took on the task of lighting the barbeque - or in his native South African tongue 'braai'. Receptionist Caroline donned her pink apron and managed food operations from the kitchen, in a co-ordinated effort to feed hungry Jessops employees.
The staff based in Newark, enjoyed an afternoon of team building in the late summer sun and even enjoyed a visit from one of our now retired staff members, Jan who provided cake...who doesn't love a bit of cake? We managed to raise an impressive £60 for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, this year's chosen charity. This now takes the total Jessops fundraising for this charity to just under £2,000.
Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance provides much needed specialist life-saving medical assistance to people when they need it. The helicopter can reach any point in the two counties in less than 20 minutes and on average can transfer a patient to hospital within 8 minutes...this all comes at a price. Each mission costs over £2100 and they fly at least 3 per day, every day. This means that each year they need to raise £2.1M to keep flying and saving lives.
