FOCUS LABEL MACHINERYLocation: BINGHAM, NOTTINGHAMSHIREClient: FOCUS LABEL MACHINERY Architect: O & L LTD Structural Engineer: BREAKWELL SUMNER PARTNERSHIP Form of Contract: JCT 98 WCD Value: £750,000 Contract Period: 24 WEEKS PROJECT DESCRIPTION The project provides 12,000 sq ft of warehouse facility together with a further 6,000 sq ft of offices for a company who manufactures specialist machinery for making labels. The building sits on a heavily reinforced concrete ring beam foundation which is all interlinked with the floor slab. The structure is a steel frame single span finished with cladding to conform to the current regulations. The two storey office unit at the front of the building is constructed in brick blockwork and cladding, some of which internally has been left fair faced with the remaining being plastered. Concrete planks form the second storey separation together with a section of mezzanine overlooking the warehouse above the production office. The offices were fitted out in full with suspended ceilings including the mechanical and electrical services these also included three compartment skirting / dado trunking with wet heating to the offices and comfort cooling. The warehouse being gas heated. A variety of floor coverings were used i.e. carpet, vinyl and painted floors. The warehouse floor was constructed using coloured concrete with a power float finish with designated walkways being achieved via the application of epoxy paint. The reception area and main feature staircase are fronted with curtain walling. Main access to the warehouse is via a sectional overhead door. Security shutters were installed externally to ground floor windows. Externals include a concrete apron, car parking and associated lighting with some soft landscaping. All the above works were carried out within the curtilage of clients existing boundaries with minimal disruption to his exiting operations.
