The building (formerly the theatre of Brookwood Hospital) has been completely refurbished providing spaces for approximately ninety children from six weeks to four years old and at the time of completion was Leapfrog Day Nursery largest nursery to date. In total seven new roofs were provided with façade treatment involving new / refurbished windows, chemical brickwork cleaning / re-pointing, new rainwater goods and a new façade to the rear where existing buildings had been removed. Internally the following facilities were provided to high standard incorporating various safety features required for a facility working with young children. Ground floor - Indoor tarmac race track and sand pit, staffed kitchens, toddlers soft playroom, toilet facilities, main staffroom and reception leading staircase and lift lobby. First floor - Baby sleeping area, baby wet area, baby soft play area, baby changing facility, baby locker room and laundrette. Toddlers soft play area, toddlers wet area, toddlers toilets, toddlers locker room, associated stores, staff lounge / kitchen and sensory room housing various items of equipment to calm children. Second floor - Computer room, painted area, toddlers toilets - all overlooking the first floor via a large glazed safety screen. Internal finishes were to a high specification with heating being provided via ceiling panels and all hot water pipes boxed to ensure no areas of heat to into contact with the children. Included externally are all associated drainage, new services and external works forming roads, staff and parent car parking, perimeter fencing and landscaping.
